Paralegal and Notary Public
Valerie is a native of Berks County. She graduated from Fleetwood High School before achieving her degree at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. Valerie holds a B.A. in English and Paralegal Studies. Always trying to better herself, she is currently pursuing her juris doctorate from Widener University Delaware Law School in their extended division program three nights a week.
Valerie’s depth of experience in the legal field is matched by the breadth of her skill set. In addition to handling complex paralegal work for Cornerstone, she also handles a number of administrative functions in our office, and she is a Pennsylvania Notary Public.
In her free time, Valerie enjoys hiking, attending concerts, traveling and spending time with her fiancé.
Born and raised in Lehigh County, Avey relocated to Berks County 21 years ago. After graduating from Salisbury High School, she entered the retail industry and quickly advanced to the management level where she excelled for many years for an international entertainment retailer. Always aware of her surroundings, she reacted to the decline in the industry and made the decision to return to school, majored in paralegal studies and graduated from Berks Technical Institute in 2012, summa cum laude.
Avey currently resides in Exeter Township with her husband, a Berks native, Kerry, and their young son, Nolan. When not attending soccer practices, games or tournaments, she enjoys reading, camping, hiking and stargazing.
